Looking forward to seeing freinds is awesome. the excitement of planning and waiting for the clock to strike that certain time on that certain day is nearly overwhelming.
Yesterday Em and I had one such meeting. WE waited all day for a fun packed outing with our family home evening "dad". the moment finally came! working emily's shoes on (ha ha ha i don't know why one shoe zips so much easier than the other) going out the door (at the same time) we looked down at our "Dad's" jeep. for some reason it looked like there was someone else in the front seat... this is thepoint where it began getting awkward. so lets back up a little rewind to right before em and i left. I was lounging in the arm chair (yes lounging) Emily was texting Dan. Emily had just been saying how Dan wasn't happy about us going to eat with "dad" and i specifically remember us talking about how this wasn't a date. Alright Speed up, play. Walking down to the car, going through my head was "Wait! Who is that?, Why is there someone else int he car!" pause: okay all of you know how much i don't like meeting new people... play. Em and I hop into the middle seat in Shanes (Dads) jeep. The boy (or man) in the front was wearing a jacket with his hood on. "PUNK!" I already had written in my head. Nobody talked much until 3/4 of the way to main street when Shane got off his phone from talkng to his dad about some "mysterious" object. which em and i later found out was his XBox which had been stolen earlier that day. We hadn't decided where to eat yet so we decided that in the turn lane onto main. "How about Angies?" "NO IHOP!" so we went to IHop. going into the resturant Shane and Austin the name of the other male sat on opposite sides... which neither emily nor i had expected. so we just walked strait which put me next to shane and emily next to austin. That's when Austin got on his hot chocolate. "Dude, don't they have hot chocolate here" asked austin "yah," said shane "do they have unlimited refills?" "no, but if you get a cool waitress she might give them to you" that's when Austin looked up at the girl and asked, "are you a cool waitress?" "i'm not your waitress" i could then see the confusion and some what terror in her eyes "well will you make sure we get a cool waitress?" "ok...." when our waitress finally arrived i was completely worried for the terror the poor girl was going to be put into. "can i have a hot chocolate" "yes" "is there refills?" "one" "can i have unlimited?" "no" by the end of the dinner experience austin had talked the waitress into 4 refills until he was stuffed and couldn't drink anymore.
i also learned that Austin is a very cool guy despite the hard time he gives everyone. Also from this experience i learned that although i don't know someone they can become pretty funny once you get to know their personality. I had a great time being with my "Dad." THANKS DAD :D
